Not apple this time but pear — Xenia, Conference, and the Gräfin's own, gathered from gardens about Utrecht where the trees lean heavy and unasked. Pale it poured, and full of orchard, with an intense pear on the nose and a softness at the close like dusk coming down. A pear remembers gentler things than an apple. Drink, and let it.
