Norman blood, Amsterdam soil.

In Highraven, the ravens keep what the world forgets.

Three names were carried from old Brittany — Guillevic, Douce Coët Ligné, Kermerrien — Norman blood in Amsterdam soil, twice removed and rooted still. Slow they pressed it, slow it turned. Golden it poured, supple and full, neither cruel nor cloying but mannered in between. The bitterness slept this year; what remained was gentler. Pour, and stay awhile.
